God Needs You to Persevere in Prayer

God Needs You to Persevere in Prayer

Now more than ever, God is needing people to persevere in prayer. He wants you to courageously persevere like the widow Jesus described in Luke chapter 18 who prayed without fainting and refused to lose heart or give up. That widow didn’t have a loving, heavenly Father to turn to like we do when we pray. She was dealing with a wicked judge who neither feared God nor respected man, yet she kept coming to him and saying:

Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (verses 3-8)Continue reading

Prayer for America

Prayer for America

Father, in the name of Jesus, and according to your Word, we pray for those in authority in our nation. We lift up President Donald Trump, his family, his staff and cabinet members. Let Your Word cling to them and let them not depart from your plan. Strengthen them with mighty power by your Spirit to stand against wickedness, lies and deception.

Guide President Trump’s decisions; let Your light shine upon his path and show him the path of reversal for every evil way. Continually surround him with godly men and women who impart wise counsel to him.

Cause the way of the wicked to be set to confusion and come to nothing. Deliver us from the traps and snares the enemy has laid for us, and let the wicked be caught in their own devises and be brought to shame. We take authority over the plots and plans of the enemy against this nation. Let prideful and lying lips be silenced in Jesus’ name. Slanderers will not be established in America.Continue reading

Let’s Prepare the Way for Change in America!

Let’s Prepare the Way for Change in America!

When God is getting ready to do something on this earth, the first thing He does is prepare the way by looking for someone to pray.

A voice of one who cries: Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord [clear away the obstacles]; make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God! Every valley shall be lifted and filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked and uneven shall be made straight and level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory (majesty and splendor) of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. A voice says, Cry [prophesy]! And I said, What shall I cry? [The voice answered, Proclaim:] All flesh is as frail as grass, and all that makes it attractive [its kindness, its goodwill, its mercy from God, its glory and comeliness, however good] is transitory, like the flower of the field. (Isaiah 40:3–6)

When Isaiah was prophesying about this, the people understood the description. When the king would leave to go from one destination to another, a road crew would go out and prepare a highway for the king. Potholes in the road would be filled. Mountains would be brought low and valleys would be filled in. They made a total and complete highway.

When you pray what God leads you to pray, you prepare the way of the Lord.

At the turn of the century, Sister Aimee McPherson would go out and scope towns before she ever went there. She would see what is happening in the town, visit the churches and see how the pastors were conducting their congregations. (This was before she had larger meetings later in her ministry.) One of the requirements of the revival she was coming to bring to the city was that the churches would be filled with strong prayer.Continue reading

Your Authority Has Not Changed

Your Authority Has Not Changed

It is difficult to have the right words to say after deliberate acts of evil. It is heartbreaking to see so many people hurt. We must remember that God is the God of peace, comfort, and hope. As Paul reminds us, God is the “God of all comfort, who comforts and encourages us in every trouble.” I pray that those who have been affected by the violence in Orlando will have that become a reality for them.

May the believers, in particular, find the attributes of the Holy Spirit becoming real to them; He is our Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby. We need our family in Christ to have the strength to stand up and be light in the middle of that dark situation!Continue reading
