Prayer for America

Prayer for America

Father, in the name of Jesus, and according to your Word, we pray for those in authority in our nation. We lift up President Donald Trump, his family, his staff and cabinet members. Let Your Word cling to them and let them not depart from your plan. Strengthen them with mighty power by your Spirit to stand against wickedness, lies and deception.

Guide President Trump’s decisions; let Your light shine upon his path and show him the path of reversal for every evil way. Continually surround him with godly men and women who impart wise counsel to him.

Cause the way of the wicked to be set to confusion and come to nothing. Deliver us from the traps and snares the enemy has laid for us, and let the wicked be caught in their own devises and be brought to shame. We take authority over the plots and plans of the enemy against this nation. Let prideful and lying lips be silenced in Jesus’ name. Slanderers will not be established in America.Continue reading

Let’s Prepare the Way for Change in America!

Let’s Prepare the Way for Change in America!

When God is getting ready to do something on this earth, the first thing He does is prepare the way by looking for someone to pray.

A voice of one who cries: Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord [clear away the obstacles]; make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God! Every valley shall be lifted and filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked and uneven shall be made straight and level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory (majesty and splendor) of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. A voice says, Cry [prophesy]! And I said, What shall I cry? [The voice answered, Proclaim:] All flesh is as frail as grass, and all that makes it attractive [its kindness, its goodwill, its mercy from God, its glory and comeliness, however good] is transitory, like the flower of the field. (Isaiah 40:3–6)

When Isaiah was prophesying about this, the people understood the description. When the king would leave to go from one destination to another, a road crew would go out and prepare a highway for the king. Potholes in the road would be filled. Mountains would be brought low and valleys would be filled in. They made a total and complete highway.

When you pray what God leads you to pray, you prepare the way of the Lord.

At the turn of the century, Sister Aimee McPherson would go out and scope towns before she ever went there. She would see what is happening in the town, visit the churches and see how the pastors were conducting their congregations. (This was before she had larger meetings later in her ministry.) One of the requirements of the revival she was coming to bring to the city was that the churches would be filled with strong prayer.Continue reading

Praying Today for America

Praying Today for America

Today Pastor Mac and I would like you to join us in praying for America as we remember all who lost their lives on this day 14 years ago. May God comfort their loved ones with peace as well as all those affected by that day. Will you join us in agreement for our nation and our leaders to be reminded to turn to God today for wisdom, strength, and courage?

Jesus said in Matthew 14:27, “Take courage!…” Courage is something that we take: an inner strength, a command, or a course of action. Continue reading

Praying for America

I remember in 1979 exactly where I was when somebody sent me the tape of brother Kenneth Hagin saying he had decided they were going to have a prayer school at Rhema. The reason for that prayer school was Jesus had appeared to him and said there is not nearly enough prayer for your government or for the United States of America.

At that time, I wasn’t so interested in praying for the government. I was praying more for personal things, for harvest, and for rain. But then brother Hagin went over to 1 Timothy 2:1-4, which says:

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

If you want to live a peaceable life in all godliness—where godliness can prevail, where you can have prayer in your schools, where you don’t have to have humanism and evolution taught to your kids—you’re going to pray for people who are in authority.Continue reading
