Finish What You Start

Finish What You Start

When I was a child, my chief goal was to have a good time, do enough gymnastics to be a good cheerleader, and talk on the phone as much as possible. When I got to college, I had a rude awakening. One day, I just knew that unless I became focused and made some intentional goals, there was no telling what my life was going to turn out like. From that time on, I started to set goals.

In doing so, I learned two things. First of all, your mind and heart will not focus until they have clear objectives. Secondly, it’s easy to start things, but it’s not as easy to finish them. If you practice finishing what you start, it will take you a long way.

So as you head into 2015, I encourage you to not only set goals to provide a clear path for yourself to follow, but practice finishing your goals. Here’s what I mean:

  1. Don’t make the goal so out of reach that you set yourself up for failure.
  2. Put on your calendar the day that you’re going to check to see if you’re making progress.

Maybe your goal for 2015 is to read the Bible more. Maybe you need to strengthen your spirit or become better at walking in love. Whatever the case is, here are some of my past blog posts that I believe will encourage you as you focus on growing spiritually in the New Year.

May God strengthen you greatly in 2015!

  1. Thanks Pastor Lynne, 2015 will open and close doors that we can’t even imagine. I look forward to all that G-d has in store for me and for all that I know and love. And especially for those that only He knows, and whom He calls me to intercede for. Happy New Year! Vicki

    • Awesome Message Pastor Lynne it goes along with my Bold class that I just graduated from and that is Life is by Design not by default. And another affirmations is Goals we choose to do are simply but not easy. We must comment and visualize what we choose to make as a goal; long term and short term and monitor daily goals are super important, put them in writing. Setting personal Goals are important, they actually line up with how well we will perform with our own business goals, We have to comment to our self; this will build confidences and positive thinking. Happy New Years to you and your family, may 2015 be a blessing for all. For God is our strength in all we do!

  2. Pastor Lynne,
Thank you for sharing such depth of wisdom. The Lord will open rivers in high places, fountains in the valleys, the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. Expectant in 2015.
    God Bless You!
