Angels All Around, Part 5

Angels All Around, Part 5

Before we bought our current church building, we were bursting at the seams, very ready for a bigger place to meet. The building we wanted was about three blocks to the west, but it was quite sought after by developers.

The ownership of this building was going to the highest bidder. Because it was such a desired property, many developers were bidding. No one knew anybody else’s bids, so it was up to each person to determine what they should bid on the building. That was an intimidating prospect for my husband and me, so we prayed about it at great length.

The week the bids were due, my husband was walking with an usher down the back stairway at church. Normally people weren’t there, but this Sunday morning, a man stepped out from beside the wall. My husband had never seen him before. He said, “Pastor Mac, I just want to tell you that you have an amount in your heart that you should pay for that building. The amount you have in your heart is the correct amount.”

That moment confirmed to my husband what he had in his heart about this building. We placed the bid at the amount Pastor had in his heart, and we won the bid—and we’ve never seen that man before or since.

Be aware that sometimes you can entertain strangers who may be angels!

How, though, do we allow angelic ministry in our lives? Jesus said that whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. This certainly applies to angels. Psalms 103:20–21 says:

Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word. Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, all you His hosts, you His ministers who do His pleasure. (Amp.)

Angels are ministers of God who hearken to His voice and the voice of His Word. That word “hearken” means obey. They obey the voice of God’s Word. How does the Word of God have a voice? It has a voice every time you and I speak it. When you hide the Word of God in your heart and confess that Word by faith, you put angels in motion. You mobilize them to help and deliver. If you want to activate angels in your life, put the Word of God in your mouth.

So this Christmas, as you think about Jesus and the stories surrounding His precious birth, think about the angels. Think about how these angelic encounters absolutely transformed the lives of those in the Christmas story as well as the lives of those around the world. Then realize that those same angels are available to be involved in our lives today. Put God’s Word in your mouth and give them something to respond to!

Merry Christmas!

  1. I am moved by this story; this is so amazing. this is so beautiful how God will direct by angels. It actually gave me goose bumps. I ended up in the ditch with my vehicle in Northern Minnesota and a man in a truck showed up pulled me out, and I wanted to offer him money and he was no where to be found. When I was in my twenties I wanted to visit my Dad in heaven because I missed him; along a corridor I seen angles and they where on the left and also the right and in between, I felt the best I can explain it was a mist of I call pure love. I asked the angles what they were doing there? A voice spoke out saying; “they have to stay there until the Father releases this to the world.”

  2. Angels, just like miracles, are available to those who expect them.
