A World at War

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Revelation 12:10–12)

Some believers get jumpy at the mention of spiritual warfare. They say they’re just not comfortable with that kind of aggressive, authoritative prayer. But, comfortable or not, we must all engage in it because we are living in a world at war.

We wake up every morning on a spiritual battlefield where there is no such thing as neutrality. Even though Jesus defeated Satan 2000 years ago on a cross at Calvary, hell is still operating an outlaw army and waging guerilla warfare on the earth. Until Jesus returns to put those forces out of commission once and for all, we as believers must be His occupational army. Let Others Follow Him Too

As I talked about yesterday, when you try to copy someone else or live your life based on the way you saw someone else living, you’re stuck in a trap. God wants us to get down in our hearts, find out what He is saying to us individually, and let that drive our lives instead of following what God is directing other people to do.

Now, there’s something very important we need to remember as we follow our hearts: we must let other people follow their hearts as well. If you are in a strong place of reading the Word, don’t condemn the person going to the gym three nights a week to exercise. If you are in a season of prayer, don’t look down on the person spending time with their neighbors. We don’t know what God is directing other people to do; we should want them to follow their hearts, just as we are striving to do.Continue reading
