10/40 Window Prayer Project

In the time you and I live in, there is one thing on our Father’s heart, and it’s something His heart beats for every day, all day long… and that is–world harvest. Multitudes of lives around the world hang in the balance, people who have never had an opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ–not even once.

I’m reminded of James 5:7 which so clearly conveys the importance of harvest to the Father; “So be patient, brethren, [as you wait] till the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits expectantly for the precious harvest from the land. [See how] he keeps up his patient [vigil] over it until it receives the early and late rains.” (Amp.)

Isn’t it interesting that people are called, “the precious harvest”? For years, a desire for harvest has become ever more prominent in my spirit, my prayer life, and ministry.

In fact, my desire and vision for harvest has become so strong that a few years ago I launched a year-long campaign in our church to pray specifically for the most un-evangelized nations in the world.

These nations are found in a geographic area known as the 10/40 window, a window located from 10 degrees to 40 degrees north latitude, stretching from North Africa east to Japan.

The window is comprised of 67 nations with over 4 billion people; that’s nearly two-thirds of the world’s total population of 6 billion. Within this region alone, 1.6 billion people have never heard the name of Jesus. Unless that changes, they will live and die and never know Jesus as their Savior.

Now more than ever, God’s people must be mobilized both naturally and spiritually for the purpose of furthering His plan to reap the precious harvest of the earth.

That plan is furthered as you and I comprehend our responsibility as pray-ers to ask for the nations! It seems so simple and it really is. Let me remind you of Psalm 2:8; it admonishes us to, “Ask of me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as your possession.” (Amp.)

As well as giving God an entrance into nations, our prayers carry with them a supply of the Spirit. You could say our prayers release heaven’s resources to divinely intervene in the lives of so many that are lost in darkness without hope.

It’s the power of God loosed through believers resulting in transformed lives and nations reached for the cause of Christ. In light of what I’ve shared with you, I encourage and challenge you to search your heart asking the Lord what you can do to pray for world harvest. I know the Lord will use our prayers to advance the Gospel in this part of the world. Remember as you pray, use your faith and expect heaven’s supernatural resources to be released in each nation.
